The real estate agent’s compensation conversation with potential Seller and Buyer Clients, has always been an area of interest. Now, due to lawsuit issues, and efforts to better protect the consumer and provide additional negotiation choices regarding their fees, there are new rules that are imperative for agents to know. These new rules include disclosure of fees requirements, and changes to the compensation conversation and how it is structured. This is going to directly impact Seller and Buyer presentations, and representation agreements to represent. This course will review the changes, look at new methods of presentation that meet the requirements, and discuss the impact upon written representation agreements. In learning this information, agents will be able to apply risk management techniques including best practices regarding the application of new rules, new MLS policies, Code of Ethics changes, and existing real estate laws.
